The South Cape Sport Tours “Cantamus!” Choir Festival and competition is presented annually under the auspices of the George Municipality, and brings together school choirs from the whole of South Africa to participate in a weekend event of concerts, training, competition and public singing. The Glenwood Music Academy is situated on the campus of Glenwood House Private School, on the outskirts of George, and is an AdVtech Trinity institution. Curricular and extracurricular music tuition for exams or for pleasure, are provided by a dedicated staff of 10 teachers working with 140 pupils from Glenwood School and the larger community of George. The South Cape Music Academy creates remarkable performance and tour opportunities for a wide variety of national and international music groups: The 3rd “CANTAMUS!” National Schools Choir Competition will be held from 9-12 August 2017 in the George Civic Centre.   The 1st National Schools Orchestra/Instrumental Ensemble/Bands Competition will be held from 4-7 October 2017 in the George Civic Centre.   The Reunion Festival of past members of the Orange Free State Youth Choir will take place in George from 29 March to 3 April 2018.
